What are the center’s hours?
We are open all year, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
Which days is the school closed?
We close for New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Good Friday, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following day, and Christmas Day.
How do payments work?
Tuition is paid weekly, every Monday and always in advance. A returned check adds a fee, and if it happens twice, payments must be made in cash or with a cashier’s check. Fees are listed in the school’s fee schedule.
Are absences or vacations credited?
There are no credits or discounts for days absent. You may take vacations annually, but 25% of the weekly payment is required to keep the space in the classroom.
How do I withdraw my child?
Give the office two weeks’ notice and make sure all fees are paid in full before leaving. We can provide attendance and balance letters, and immunization records if you need them.
When should I keep my child home?
If they have a fever (100.0 °F or greater orally, or 99.0 °F or greater under the arm), diarrhea, vomiting more than once in 24 hours, sore throat, red eyes with discharge, untreated rashes or skin patches, or a diagnosis such as pink eye, strep, chicken pox or lice.
When can a child return after being sick?
Once symptoms have been absent for 24 hours. A doctor’s note stating they are free of communicable disease is required.
Do you give medication?
Yes, with a signed school consent form that must be filled out daily. Medication must come in its original container with the child’s name, dosage instructions and doctor’s information. Fever medication is given only once, in an emergency, and you must pick up your child as soon as possible.
Which immunization and health records do I need?
The Florida Department of Children and Families requires current immunization and physical exam records in each child’s file. Without them, the child may be suspended until they are up to date.
What meals are served and when?
Breakfast from 6:30 to 8:30 am, lunch from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and an afternoon snack at 2:30 pm, after naptime. A catering service prepares them following the USDA Food Program guidelines. The menu is posted at the front office and in the kitchen.
What if my child has allergies or a special diet?
Let us know about any allergy: it will be noted in the main office and the classroom. For a special diet for religious or health reasons, documentation from your doctor is needed.
Can I bring food or celebrate a birthday?
Children may bring additional food items, securely packaged and labeled with their name and the date. For birthdays and celebrations, coordinate with the teacher: treats must be purchased commercially (pre-packaged or from a bakery) and the receipt shown, since home-cooked food is not allowed.
Who can pick up my child?
Only you or the people you listed on the enrollment application. If you send someone else, tell the office beforehand. Everyone must show valid identification, and we do not release a child to another child.
Is signing in and out mandatory?
Yes. By law, parents must sign their children in and out every day, legibly.
What if I am late for pick-up?
The center closes promptly at 6:00 pm. If an emergency arises, there is an additional fee for every time unit after 6:00 pm (see the fee schedule).
Can I visit my child’s classroom?
Yes. We have an open door policy: you may visit at any time to observe or volunteer, following the classroom routine so other children are not disturbed.
What should my child bring every day?
The uniform (ages 3 and up): blue polo with our logo, khaki pants and sneakers, plus an extra change of clothes. For toilet training, three complete outfits including socks.
Can I send toys from home?
We recommend keeping toys at home or in the car, since they can be lost or broken and cause arguments between children.
What is your photo and video policy?
We ask before taking professional photos at events. Photos of daily classroom activities are used only for classroom and academic purposes, and the camera system in classrooms and the playground is for staff use only.
